KWANZAA DANCE

KWANZAA is a week-long celebration which begins on December 26 and ends on January 1. Participants use its seven principles to guide their reflections about the ending year and to help make plans for the new year.

Like many holidays and festivals, Kwanzaa makes use of symbolic candles. The seven-armed Kwanzaa candle holder (the kinarra) has a black candle in the middle, with three red candles to the left and three green candles to the right. Just as there is a candle for each of the seven days, this collection contains a special song for each principle of Kwanzaa.
